Biome- a complex biotic community characterized by distinctive plant and animal species and maintained under the climatic conditions of the regions,
especially such a community that has developed to climax
Biosphere- 1) the part of the earth's crust, waters, and atmosphere that supports life or 2) the ecosystem comprising the entire earth and the living
organisms that inhabit it
Community- a locality inhabited by a group
Ecosystem- formed by the interaction of a community of organisms with their environment
Food chain- shows how one animal gets energy to live (direct line)
Food web- show how plants and animals are connected, each lend a hand in the others survive
Habitat- a natural environment of an organism; place that is natural for the life and growth of an organism
Niche- the position or function of an organism in a community of plants and animals
Population- 1) the assemblage of a specific type of organism living in a given area or 2) all the individuals of one species in a given area
Primary Consumers- eat the producers, which makes them herbivores in most communities
Producers- bring energy from nonliving sources into the community
Pyramid of biomass- shows the relationship between biomass and tropic levels
Pyramid of energy- shows how the energy flows throughout a community
Pyramid of numbers- shows the population that are in that specific geological area
Secondary consumers- eat the primary consumers, which makes the carnivores
Species- a class of individuals having some common characteristics or qualities; distinct sort or kind
Tertiary consumers- eat the secondary consumers
